Custom Engineering Uses FARO Laser Tracker to Cut Fabrication Layout Time in Half (article on faro.com) The FARO Laser Tracker has been a wonderful addition to our workforce. It has the versatility to assist with the fit up of large fabricated weldments and the ability to verify GD&T on machined surfaces. One of the many applications for the Tracker is to layout hole locations on more dynamic weldments, increasing the accuracy while saving setup time. The portability of the unit allows us to check jobs that are still on a machine to insure a good part before getting released to final inspection, thus reducing handling time. The accuracy and depth of the real time information is truly the Trackers greatest attribute. Once measured and saved, jobs are electronically archived for further review and/or to be referenced long after the job has been shipped. The FARO Laser Tracker literally has hundreds of applications that are both cost-cutting and time saving.
